Contact Luke Warner
Luke moved to Berlin from Sydney in 2010 after having worked in Realestate sales and running 6 boarding houses accross Sydney, Wollongong and Bathurst.
He first started working at Freiraum in 2011 while also working at a larger hostel in Berlin in the cafe, bar and reception. In 2018 he was given the opportunity to take over and manage the longstanding Freiraum business.
2022 he ran Key Kaffee Bar in Manteufelstr
2023 he opened Freiraum Café
Freiraum was founded by Ivos shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall and has been an institution of Wiener Str ever since. Located right in the heart of Kreuzberg at Gorlitzer Bahnhof it has been home to countless travelers, tourists, bands, artists and families.
Freiraum almost came to an end when the rental contract was not extended in 2018.
After lengthy negotiations Freiraum was able to stay and Ivos handed the leadership over to Luke.Once the new lease was signed it was necessary to make some changes to cover the increased rent and knowing that Freiraum was safe for some years to come it was the right time to act. Unfortunately permissions and permits for the new cafe project took longer than expected and then corona hit, putting a stop to..well.. basically everything.

In 2023 after surviving a tough corona period Freiraum proudly opened Freiraum Café !!
